A retreat after RCRT for grade 8 and the monsoon short trip for grade 6 and 7, the destination was Tikona Fort also known as Vitandgad located in Pawna Mawal area near Lonavala.

Six teachers and 50 students started a 1.5 km warm-up walk from the base village ‘ Tikona Peth’ to the starting point of the Trek. A glance at the Pyramid shaped Tikona Fort seemed too far, which is at an altitude of 3580 feet above sea level. The Trek route begins with bit steep but steady height gain.
The wonderful scenery was mesmerizing, children expressed their wow! moments throughout experiencing the misty weather and drizzles.
For Gurukulam students any terrain seems easy. We captured the entrance gate or Vetal darwaja, the temple of ‘Trimbakeshwar Mahadev’, Water tanks, Caves, stone grinder, then the Slippery- Steep stairs which took us at the Bale-Killa. The refreshed tired bodies easily descended to the base and relished home-made vegetarian Thalis at the Village Dhaba.
Fountain Mall Hinjewadi hub replenished snacking in the evening.
“When everything feels like an uphill struggle,
Just think of the view from the top.
